Rovaniemi international Kino Kabaret calls filmmakers and film enthusiasts for a weekend-long short film workshop in Rovaniemi, Finland 8.-10. December 2017.

Join us for the 4th Vastarannan Kino – Rovaniemi International Kino Kabaret. Experience the polar night and take the challenge of shooting your film in two and a half days. There will be approximately 10 hours of daylight for the whole weekend, so there you go! Luckily we provide some lighting equipment and a fully equipped video studio for you to rejoice!

Vastarannan Kino – Rovaniemi International Kino Kabaret is a weekend long short film workshop where the films are made from scratch to final screening.

You can participate in any role in film crew. Come as a director, cinematographer, actor, editor, 2nd unit grip, sound designer, muse, executive producer… Share your skills or challenge yourself with something new!

Kino is open for everyone interested in film making. Whether you’re a professional filmmaker, student, hobbyist or a newcomer, everyone is welcome! We especially encourage people from different art fields to join us and offer their fresh perspective on film making!

Kino starts on friday 8th of December at 5:15 p.m. with a presentation meeting, where everybody introduces themselves, and people with project ideas introduce them and tell what they need to accomplish their film. After that people start forming groups independently and start MAKING FILMS!!!

The films will be screened on Sunday evening the 10th of December.

Entry fee for the workshop is great big 5€! We will spend the money for insurance and some coffee and snacks at the Kinolab.

KINO LAB
Kino lab i.e. our working space is located in University of Lapland. We have our headquarters in a fully equipped video studio with sound studio and bunch of editing units at hand.

ACCOMMODATION
All participants coming from outside Rovaniemi will be offered accommodation either at a common accommodation space, or at a local participants’ couch.
